How is Rwandan coffee grown?
The coffee trees are located between 1800 – 2200 m above sea level in northern Rwanda (in the village of Baliz, where gorillas live). This 100% Arabica coffee bean benefits from very rich volcanic soil (fertile, clayey soil) which gives it a recognizable aromatic profile! The natural resources of this region along with abundant rainfall are excellent for producing high quality coffee.
What are the aromas in the mouth?
Ikawa is a very delicious coffee bean , with lively and exotic notes . It can be drunk long to take your time in the morning or as an espresso for quick breaks! Both preparations work wonderfully!

Since 2003…
The Dukunde Kawa cooperative, which means “Those who love coffee”, brings together coffee bean producers with a commitment centered around respect for people and the earth.
Today…
Nearly 2,000 producers harvest green coffee, 80% of whom are women . The association contributes to school fees for their children as well as health care. Women are encouraged to find additional sources of income to be more independent (like sewing, for example)!
